Experience the Magic
Once a month, when the moon is full and the tide is right, we take a small group of paddleboarders out onto the bay after dark. What happens next is hard to describe: the moonlight turns the water into hammered silver, your paddle strokes disturb bioluminescent plankton that flash pale blue-green below the surface, and the world beyond the boat ramp simply ceases to exist.
This is not a skills-focused tour. It is an evening designed around one thing: the feeling of standing on glassy water under a full moon, watching constellations wheel overhead while the bay glows softly with every paddle stroke. No experience necessary. No prior paddleboarding required. You just need to show up and be ready to spend 90 minutes in a place that feels separate from everything else.

The Details
The Full Moon Paddleboard Tour runs on moonlit evenings when conditions are right. Tours operate year-round, but the experience changes with the seasons: summer paddles are warm and intimate, while winter tours offer a crisp, star-filled sky and the chance to paddle near migrating gray whales.
We keep groups small (typically 4-8 paddlers) so everyone gets the calm, peaceful experience the tour is designed for. Our guides are certified paddleboarders who know Tomales Bay's currents and tides by heart. Safety is always first, but the tone is relaxed and contemplative.
Paddling experience is not required. The bay is calm at night, the water is warm (especially with a wetsuit), and we move slowly. If you have never paddled before, this is a beautiful way to start.
